Loved getting additional background, great story

I have just recently signed up for a service that alerts me when favorite authors release new publications --- and am I so glad I did! Without it, I wouldn't have found this wonderful little gem as I wasn't looking for a new publication until next fall.

My experience with the vast majority of other short stories published in other series hasn't been all that great. Usually the emphasis should be on the word "short" as most of them are only about half of the download and the rest an advertisement for their upcoming book. The other thing I have noticed is that the stories are usually just "ok" at best which I am going to attribute to novelists writing in a format with which they are not familiar. That being said, I love this series so much that I was willing to take anything I could get to tide me over until October when the next full-length novel comes out.

Imagine my surprise to find this ended up being a novel in miniature. All 66 pages are just like the novels - story, glossary, Kinky's notes. Not a bit of filler to be found. In the author's notes at the beginning of the story, Mr. Taylor explains a bit about why he wrote it and views it as a gift to his readers (not free, but at a very nominal price). I have to agree whole-heartedly.

While it is short, I was able to settle into the story and get into a flow. It gives some backstory we have not been privy to as readers such as how Fingal Flahertie O'Reilly came to be at Ballybuklebo and how his first few days went in the new practice. Hint: Bertie Bishop was a pain in the you-know-what from day one!

For fans of the series, I would highly recommend reading this wonderful story though it will only whet your appetite for the next one. Thank goodness I only have to wait six months from this point. Loved it and a huge "thank you" to the author.

I'm sad it's only a bit-longer-than-short story, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I still remember picking up the Country Christmas book in December of '11 not knowing what it was about and now it's May of '13 and I still can't get enough of Mr. Taylor's characters.

This was a great story and I really loved hearing about Dr. O'Reilly' s beginning in Ballybucklebo. Now to wait until October for the next book....

Everything I needed for the CTEL

This text admirably addresses the CTEL exam. Pop for the third edition; it's worth it. And if it were up to me, this book's sections on immigration law, history, and diversity would be required reading for any educator.

Buy the Book, Pass the CTEL

This book is a MUST! I didnt want to take any prep classes or go through college courses for my CLAD, so I opted to take the CTEL exam. All I did was read this book from cover to cover--THAT'S IT. Everything I needed to know was in this book! I passed all three sections in one day, first time. I didnt do any other prepping; no class, no online practice test--just read a chapter a night the two weeks before I took it. I picked this book based on other's reviews, and THEY WERE RIGHT! Do yourself a favor and get this book if you are taking the CTEL.

About the Author
Mary Ellen Quinn worked as a librarian for most of her career. She has published numerous articles related to library collection development and reference publishing, including Reference Books Bulletin’s annual encyclopedia update. She wrote the “Librarian’s Library” column in American Libraries from 2007–11. In 2001, she received the Louis Shores Award for excellence in book reviewing for libraries.

Wished for more technical language.

The story is sad, but a great teaching tool for people in digital forensics and counselors like myself. I've dealt with hundreds of kids who have been abused and I can say that this book provides a great insight into the detection and rescuing defenseless children. I gave it only 4 stars because I wished it would have been written in more of a technical language concerning the software used. For the child involved, I hope and pray she has received the help she needs.

Not up to Robin Bowles usual standard

I am a big Robin Bowles fan, but this is the first time I’ve read one of her shorts. Sad to say, I actually felt a bit cheated. The narrative wasn’t much more than an extended news article and had none of the usual insight into the case that Robin Bowles is renowned for.

[Note for publisher: This might be my Kindle, but the quote from the affidavit that starts at loc 177 shows up as one long 3-character column, which is almost impossible to read.]

Healed of 12 diseases to date

With the help of the teachings from the author of the book "Be In Health" and the help of his ministry team in GA I have come to truly know who God is and I have a much closer walk with God now. I have also been healed of heart palpitations, hyper sensitive to caffeine and meds, high blood pressure, back problems, immune system problems, high blood sugar, plantersfishites, knee problems, high cholesterol, allergies, and hypothyroidism.

Some people say bad things about this book and Dr. Wright's teachings, but you can't deny the fruits of the ministry. People are coming closer to God and people are being healed of incurable diseases. I would like to point out the order that I just listed. Everything starts by having a closer walk with God. The healing is just a plus of having a closer walk with Him and repenting from the dead works in your life.

If you are sick there is a reason why and God wants to heal you, the question is are you willing to do your part? If you are sick seriously considering buying this book or attending one of their conferences.
