I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to study French for A level onwards ... Couldn't live without it now! Amazon reviewer I think it's a really good book for any Advanced level student, a nice little book to have alongside your degree for reference, and a good extra for those learners who are wanting to improve their essay writing phrase vocabulary. About the Author
Dr Paul Humberstone has been Head of Modern Languages in two independent schools, a Principal Examiner in French language and literature for many years, and a school inspector. He has been involved in many of the developments in language-teaching syllabuses since the early eighties.

Very informative! A little overpriced.

Gives a list of words and expressions for each subject featured in the book ( there is a nice selection of them). Very helpful for an intermediate or advanced student in French, especially the one preparing for an oral exam or just anybody who wants to take their speaking skills to an advanced level. Also great for those that learn business french and the ones that need to converse on political subjects and express their point of view. I didn't give it five stars, because I expected the book to be a little bit bigger for what I paid for, and the paper is not of a good quality. Overall, the content of the book is great, but because of its size and paper quality, it feels overpriced.
