Perfect starting guide for beginners

I have bought the book to get the basics of the oVirt system. As a beginner I was looking for a starter guide.
In the first chapters the author describes virtualization in general and gives an overview about the oVirt components and the architecture. Thus every component is briefly explained like the agent's, the database, DWH, interface Programming and etc.
Before the installation the guide gives the user more information about the system requirements so that everyone know what he need for the setup. The installation itself is described step by step. For every process step the reader finds the suitable command lines so that nothing should fail. The admin and user portal of oVirt are very good described with many Screenshot. These pages are like a oVirt manual. The book helped me a lot to setup my first oVirt environment successfully and also on managing the virtual machines/clients.
There exists a small chapter about main features but I would like to have at least two pages with the new main features of oVirt 3.3. I miss a closer look to the new features of the latest version.
The topic of the last chapter is troubleshooting. The author gives a quick overview about general issues so the book cannot be applied to solve all problems. I know that the book is only a starter guide but I would really like to read some best practice cases and information about oVirt optimization.
All in all, a good guide to get the first background knowledge about oVirt and to setup the first oVirt environment successfully!

Excellent learning, gradually

The author can explain simply and clearly, the whole structure of oVirt, which for me was essential. I have been working with virtualization management products from other manufacturers and would find open-source options.
With this book you will be able to compare oVirt with other commercial solutions available on the market and in addition, you will learn how to implement a complete solution from basic setup to more advanced tasks, including useful information about the storage layer.
I recommend this book to all professionals working with virtualization wanting to know a great option for managing virtualized environments, fully open-source.
